Tattoos effect on cultures

Tattoos have been an art form and a very useful way for humans to produce a uniquely permanent message on their skin. Foss provides a broad definition of narration: "By narration I refer to a theory of symbolic actions-words and/ or deeds- that have sequence and meaning for those who live, create, or interpret them." Women have used tattoos in reasons of inspiration, faith, motivation, rebellion, and many other narrative passages. In different cultures around the world, people use forms of tattooing as traditional measures and symbolic means. Means that are based on leadership, maturing, inspiration, and definitive cultural signs. These cultural signs represents someones loyalty to a culture, group, gang, or society.

I took this from Cody's blog cause i feel strongly about this topic, i have 6 tattoos but only 3 are visible but should it matter weather they are visible or what they are of that we should judge? If you want to get a job in the "business world" everyone knows that visible tattoos are always a deterrent from getting that job, but why? Is not having an odd hairstyle, or the way you do your makeup, or your physical appearance in general can be a way of self expression and in many other cultures tattoos are just that as well. So in this time of globalization of media and communication why is that tattoos are frowned upon in the business world? Granted as long as it is not an thing sinister and offensive to others i feel that they should be accepted just as any other form of expression.
