the question posed on the hand out notes for chapter 3 really got me thinking, made me start to realize that the old forms of "screening" television just aren't prevalent anymore. sure stuff on prime time TV slots is edited for content but what are we really being screened from? just because they don't show the whole boob during a sex scene or we don't actually see the bullet enter someones body are we really screening TV? All these new forms of technology allow any users with eht knowledge and now how to access almost anything they seek to see in some form or another weather it be internet, satellite, or even TV on cell phones these days. But as i wrote this and read a little more into the chapter i realized that when asked about screening it is meant in a different way than i had originally thought. I think that the forms of screening that these control groups are faced with there is nothing today that they cannot accomplish. With so many forms of broadcast alleys any type of information and/or ideas they are trying to convey can be seen by interested, intended audiences if that is the information they seek. These new forms of technology give the people of these groups more freedom and availability than ever before to make available what they seek to share.
